Thy Kingdom Come: A Wave of Prayer across England - 1 Mar 2016
“It is impossible to overstate the life-transforming power of the Lord’s prayer…”
We’re so excited to be part of a nation-wide week of prayer across England leading up to Pentecost.
In a letter delivered to every Church in England, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York wrote:
“It is impossible to overstate the life-transforming power of the Lord’s Prayer. It is a prayer that is reassuring enough to be on the lips of the dying and yet dangerous enough to be banned in cinemas. It is famous enough to be spoken each day by billions in hundreds of languages and yet intimate enough to draw us ever closer into friendship with Jesus Christ.”
So, inspired by the simple, yet powerful words of the Lord’s Prayer, the Church of England are inviting communities to join together and pray for God’s kingdom to come in this nation.
“Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done”
Thy Kingdom Come is encouraging Churches to join together with a specific prayer: For every Christian to receive new confidence and joy in sharing their faith. It’s an incredible opportunity to join together and pray for transformation.
Following the prayer week, Beacon Events will be held around the country in Cathedrals all over England, where thousands will join together to worship and pray, led by the likes of Tim Hughes, Matt Redman and our very own Pete Greig.
This is an incredible opportunity for Christians across England to unite together; to pray together; to ask God to move powerfully in this nation.
We’re looking forward to joining in and you can too:
