The Girl who walked into the Presence of God - 17 Jan 2017

Sometimes, prayer rooms result in some pretty amazing encounters with God. We received this encouraging update from some friends in America:

“A teenage girl we know brought a friend, for the first time, to a gathering we had in our home. We’ll call her friend Kate - a very confident, self-assured girl who knows what she wants. For fun, I asked if they both would like to see the prayer room we have in our house.

They eagerly said yes, and as we entered the space they started to ooh and aah at the room, eyes wide.

I started to chat with Kate about how she was God’s idea and that Jesus is the blueprint and life of her design; how she was created by the ultimate creator. As she was blushing and smiling, her friend noticed her behaviour and remarked: “Why are you acting so weird? You never act this way!”

“I know,” Kate replied, “But usually when I walk into a room, it’s mine…” (implying that she owns the atmosphere wherever she goes). But then, pausing, and with a look of astonishment and wonder she said: “But this - this is not my room.”

The presence of God was so evident in the room - Kate had just encountered Him.

What followed was a joyful conversation which resulted in Kate’s desire to there and then get baptised - a request denied by her mother on the phone!

But now, Kate is in love with Jesus. And all she did was walk into a room that was owned by Him.”

Prayer rooms can take place in the smallest of settings yet still have a huge impact, as this story shows. Find out how you can create a space for the presence of God: head to our Prayer Rooms page to get started.
