God on the Move: Introducing Lovefast - 3 May 2018
We've received this update from one of our friends at the Mahabba Network about Lovefast - their annual prayer initiative to encourage Christians to pray for Muslims during Ramadan.
A WINd of change
Though the news seems scarcely reported, there is, what author David Garrison calls, “a wind blowing through the House of Islam”, and it's a wind that doesn't appear to be slowing down...
In the last 25 years alone, the world has seen more Muslims making the decision to follow Jesus than in the previous 1400 combined.
And these movements are happening in every region; from West Africa right across to the islands of Indonesia.
So, why now?
Well, there are many reasons; but most significant is surely that Christians are praying for Muslims as never before.
God is moving in response to the prayers of his people. And it’s not just about far off places; God has moved and is moving Muslim people so that they might find him.
Of course, we’re so thankful for all the amazing stories of changed lives and changed communities, but these are still small beginnings.
God’s call for Christians to continue to pray is sounding loud and strong.
Mahabba (meaning ‘love’ in Arabic) is a growing network – ordinary Christians, praying with purpose for our Muslim neighbours and seeking to reach out in love. And beginning 15th May, they're launching Lovefast.
So, what’s Lovefast? It’s a prompt to pray - to join daily with hundreds of thousands of Christians worldwide, praying for our Muslim brothers and sisters, every day of Ramadan.
By signing up, you'll receive daily emails, filled with prayer points, scriptures, ideas to serve practically and more.
Ramadan is a significant month for Muslims - but also a time where Jesus has been revealed to many.
God is on the move - and we get to partner with him in his great plan for Muslims. Would you commit to praying for the Muslim world this Ramadan? Sign up today.
