Not your average prayer meeting: 2006 GDOP - 31 Jan 2006
More than your average prayer meeting! The 15th May 2005 was one of the most amazing days in Christian history! More than 220 million Christians from 156 of the 220 nations of the world united on Pentecost Sunday for the Global Day of Prayer.
Driven by Habakkuk 2:14 "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea," Christians gathered in churches, football stadiums and open fields to seek God's face for the transformation of their communities and nations. During the 10 Days of 24-10 prayer, preceding the Global Day of Prayer, young people around the globe participated by doing a '30 Second Kneel Down', praying in their schools and work places for the world.

In 2006 the Global Day of Prayer team want to build on this momentum and 24-7 Prayer wants to support them. Their dream and ours is to see a new generation of prayer warriors who will live for God's Kingdom through a lifestyle of prayer, mission and justice.
