Come Join 24-7 Prayer @ Parliament! May 20-27 - 3 May 2007
Come and join us as we prayer walk around the Houses of Parliament, up Whitehall and around other significant buildings during this year’s week of 24-7 Prayer for Parliament & Whitehall.
Each year the Week of Prayer for Parliament and Whitehall brings
together Christians to pray for God’s blessing on politics and
government in the UK. The week is run by Christians in Parliament - the All-Party
Parliamentary Group for the Christian community in the Palace of
Westminster, and Christians in Government – the network of Christian
fellowships in government departments and ministries, it is supported
by 24-7 Prayer. With a clear focus
on praying for (and not against) those who have responsibilities
relating to governing the UK such as Ministers of Parliament, Peers, Ministers, Civil
Servants, Parliamentary Staff etc., the week represents an opportunity
for individuals and Christian churches, denominations, organisations,
prayer networks, charities, and home groups to engage in concerted
prayer for their nation's government.
Throughout the week, there are many prayer meetings, events and
activities happening that draw together Christians who work in
Parliament and Whitehall. There also are lots of opportunities for open
public involvement, whether praying from a home church context or
getting along to scheduled events. Running from Sunday 20th May, the
week will conclude on Sunday 27th May by joining with the Global Day of
Prayer celebrations at Upton Park Stadium in London.
Here are the details that you'll need to be able to get involved:
