Kiwi Salvos pray 24-7-365 in 2005! - 3 Dec 2004
"Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. " Isaiah 42:10, The Bible
Between Tuesday 1 March 2005 and Tuesday 28 February 2006, The Salvation Army in New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga (tiny island nations literally at the ends of the earth!) are going to be praying non-stop!
Judith Bennett, Territorial Prayer Ministries Coordinator says: "The Salvation Army in both the UK and Australia East have already experienced remarkable results from praying 24-7-52. The New Zealand national leadership of The Salvation Army sense very definitely that God is calling us to pray in this particular way during the 12months.... who knows how/where God is going to lead us following this?
I have the awesome privilege of presenting the 24-7 concept to our corps (churches) around NZ... I'm humbled and excited at the absolutely positive response from our people. In the presentation I'm encouraging Sallies to invite the churches in their area to join together for their days/week of prayer...after all, what can be more exciting than the whole Body of Christ coming together to pray for their community?"
