Reading: Government grant - 20 Jun 2002
Looks like the Boiler Room in Reading is gonna get a £25,000 grant from central government to work with excluded kids in the town over the summer. This is an incredible recognition of the role the Prayer House is playing amongst the town's most difficult young people. All the more amazing when you remember that we only set it up less than a year ago and that our aim is to pray!The grant is an incredible and exciting honour, but doesnt actually help much with the general skintness of the Boiler Room as the money is clearly allocated and can't be spent on general running costs. So please don't conclude that the Reading guys are now loaded!
