The Promise: 'I am with you always'.

"There is no strategic spiritual battle plan, no dissertation listing the finer points of Church planting. Instead Jesus keeps things simple with a statement, a command and a promise. "

It's like Jesus' graduation. He's all set for His ascension, but if you were expecting some long speech full of wisdom and retrospective memories, you're going to be surprised. There is no strategic spiritual battle plan, no dissertation listing the finer points of Church planting. Instead Jesus keeps things simple with a statement, a command and a promise.

Fewer verses commissioned the disciples than are used to list the kingly family tree at the start of Mathew's gospel. Yet the Great commission deserves our attention. It's 2 verses that really should get us pumped up. The commission still stands. The record is stuck; Jesus is saying the exact same words to us as he did to his troop a couple of thousand years ago.

"There are certain Kairos moments in life when things somehow click."

There are certain Kairos moments in life when things somehow click. We all of a sudden get excited or inspired and realise something of God's will for our lives. This, for me, often comes when I dig in and discover what these few verses in scripture actually mean for us today; not what they meant for a group of fisherman, but what they mean for a twenty something year old guy living in London in the year 2005.

I am stoked to be a part Transmission. Could these few days in Harpenden be a time where God's statement, command and promise really hits us between the eyes and inspires us to act?

I am particularly excited about having Jay Smith's input in the programme- a true Jesus radical with a passion to reach the Islamic world; a man with stories that will infect you with a passion that burns and insight that inspires.

Transmission will not pass by unnoticed. You will not leave on Tuesday without a desire to see the Great commission fulfilled in your life.
