Canada: Latest News (Updated) - 8 Apr 2003
Thanks to everyone for their prayers during this important trip. It didn't all go as smoothly as we had expected, but some fantastic relationships with one of the churches was begun. The meetings with YWAM didn't happen on this trip, but will now be taking place the weekend of May 10th (and in an interesting turn of events, the International President of YWAM will be at the meeting!), so if you'd like to pray into that, we'd love it!! Continue to pray for a financial breakthrough in Canada also - we've been very tight in the last months (much like the rest of the 24-7 offices around the planet) and yet, God has suprised us with unexpected gifts from time to time which keeps us moving! Thanks!

Original Message:
Dan King, who directs the 24-7Prayer office in Canada has some major meetings this weekend in Vancouver, BC (April 11th and 12th).
- He’ll be meeting with two churches that are very interested in becoming supporting partners with the 24-7 in Canada. Their role would be to provide wisdom and discernment to the 24-7 leadership team, promote the vision and values of 24-7 within their denominations, and aid in supporting 24-7 in Canada financially. First and foremost, pray that relationships and friendships will continue to be built between 24-7 and the church leaders. Pray for God’s guidance as they talk about potential roles these churches may have. Pray for clear direction on the timing of any partnering that may occur. Pray most of all that what happens during the meetings is able to help in turning the tide of youth culture in Canada back to God.
- YWAM in Canada has begun talking with the 24-7 office about what is happening in Western Europe (they’ve just launched a non-stop year of prayer). Dan is hoping to spend time visiting with some of the YWAM leadership this weekend also. Pray that this meeting – if it takes place – would go well. Pray that the idea of unifying the YWAM bases in Canada (and possibly North America) through a 24-7 Prayer season would take root and grow. Pray, again, for the timing of it all and that God’s will would be done.
- Finally, 24-7 (and especially Dan), continue to be invited to take part in a number of conferences and retreats all over the country. Pray for discernment in accepting or passing over these invitations … this movement is not about being busy and “doing the Christian speaking circuit”, it’s about prayer, and seeing intimacy with Jesus grow and missionaries sent into youth culture to turn the tide!
