NZ: An Invisible Poem from a prayer room - 31 Dec 2004

I want to make
an invisible mark
on the pages of history;
Not knowing what form this mark takes until I reach eternity
Writing this novel, researching facts, proclaiming truth
But all from the secrecy of my prayer closet

I'm not worried about fame, or money, or recognition
What stirs me is the passion of his heart towards 'the lost'
The gentle whisper as He calls for His children to return home
The silent tears that slip down his cheeks as we stumble in the darkness.

I don't want people to see my mark on history
Because I want Him to be the first one to tell me
how my prayers have touched His heart
Something in me yearns to stand in the quiet place
Impact through intimacy,
change through close communion
This small stone spreading ripples, again invisible

Let me make my invisible mark on the pages of history
For one day I will know exactly what my life wrote
What my prayers effected, and how I touched His heart
For as we walk, as we live, as we pray, as we listen
Our story is written, some invisible, some not.
