You came to live amongst us.

You lived as a refugee,

as a wanderer,

at times you too were dependant on the help of others,

you saw suffering and grief,

and you were moved by it.

Jesus come in mercy in Asia today.

Bring your peace to the sea of fear

sweeping the nations there.

Bring comfort to the bereaved.

Bring hope to the hopeless,

seeking lost relatives.

Bring news to those waiting.

Put your loving arms around those

who have lost relatives,

be Father to those fathers and mothers

who have lost children.

Jesus,

You are the light of the world.

In places which seem so dark;

in Ache Province, in Galle,

in Adaman and Nicobar,

in Phuket, in India,

Indonesia, Thailand,

Sri Lanka and the Maldives,

in each place of suffering....
