Psychiatric hospital, outhouse, playroom - Portugal's prayer places - 1 Feb 2005
"Here's the latest on the prayer room we've been trying to do at the psychiatric hospital downtown Lisbon..." Lisa Borden writes from Portugual's capital.
"The hospital people were positive and interested and even checked out the 24-7prayer website and yet we waited a total of 4 weeks, being told daily that we'd hear "tomorrow."

Pretty much every day they thought of another person they had better clear it with. Finally, last week, we heard that we would not be able to set up a prayer room at this time. The director just wasn't sure what kind of effect the prayer room would have on the patients. (what?) but....
By now there are so many Portuguese people interested in doing a prayer room that CCVA, the largest protestant church in Portugal, opened their doors to us and said we could set up in their kids' room.

It's a great location, just 10 minutes walk from the hospital and prayer room organiser Barbara plans to invite the priest and directors from the hospital. We'll be setting up today and launching tonight at 8pm.
We are very pumped to go through this open door and see how God spreads the vision through the Portuguese body through this. As far as we know, this is the fourth prayer room in Portugal (though there was some form of a prayer room on the YWAM base some time ago.) We hosted two at Riverside International Church, that inspired one at the King's Kids camp last summer (maybe the only prayer room ever in an outhouse??) and now this one will begin tonight. Prayer appreciated!"
