NZ: Kiwi Salvos year of prayer kicks off! - 12 Mar 2005
|
The Faith Factory in Waitakere, west Auckland, New Zealand, are first Salvation Army church to pray non-stop as part of the Kiwi Salvos' 24-7 year of prayer which started on March 1.
They're a brave bunch - thinking that a mere week was just for wimps they decided to pray for a full month to kick off the year! |

Prayer room organiser Amanda Kennedy writes about how it's been going so far and they have great testimonies of what God's been doing:
"We have been praying for a local family's nephew in America who had a torn Aorta and we prayed for him right on 11am when he was having the operation, we later learned that when the surgeons opened him up there was nothing to operate on as he had been completely healed.
One of our Early Childhood Teachers came to work with a migraine so the
other teachers surrounded her, laid hands on her and prayed for instant healing - after the prayer, she went on to say that she felt the pain move from the top of her head to the back and then completely lift off leaving her with no migraine.
That same teacher prayed in the prayer room the day before, asking God to
make the Faith Factory holy ground, from the start of the driveway to the
very end of the building. We had a young lady (who did not know about that
prayer) come to pray later that night and she described feeling
overwhelmed with the presence of God as the wheels of her car touched the
driveway into the Faith Factory.

We have been praying constantly for a child in our childcare centre who is from a broken home, with a lot of problems, in Children and Young Families Service care and very disruptive, we have been praying for a peace on his life and that he would feel the love of Jesus in his life - the last few days, he has been a different child, there is a real peace over him, he is calm and he has been sitting down quietly and reading books - PRAISE GOD! |

Another lady from our church has her mum from Africa staying with her at the
moment, her mum is a Christian and I don't know what her circumstances are
but before she came to NZ, she had a prophecy over her life that she would
find healing in NZ. She went into the prayer room with her daughter the 2nd
day and has been going in every day since on her own and feeling the healing
power of Christ.
For me, I've been praying a real release on my life, that I may seek God in
everything, hand everything over to him and allow him to take the driver's
wheel. Since I have prayed that prayer, my stress levels are no more, my
work (budget time) is getting done and I have time to spare every day, even
though I have been giving up time to spend in the prayer room. God can do
the impossible.

Because we are registered on the 24-7 Prayer international website, we are getting prayer requests from all around the world, placing them on our wailing wall and praying for these people, that God's will be done in their lives and that they will know God's love for them. It's fantastic!

God is working powerfully at the Faith Factory and it's only been a few days since we began - it's so exciting!
Everybody is saying an hour is not enough and they are trying to find time slots where they can do 2 hours stints. The youth of Waitakere have really got on board - they have been staying the night and taking out 6 hour slots - I am so overwhelmed with what God is doing in people's lives through 24-7 prayer.
I want to encourage all churches to get on board with this movement - it'll
change your people, your church and your community for the better - it's
totally amazing what can happen when we hand everything over to God and let
Him take control."
