USA: Only one hour?! - 13 Apr 2005

People at Metro Christian Fellowship (where 24-7 is based in the United States) are into their second month of praying 24-7. The church had originally planned on praying for 30days but no one wanted to stop after the first month! Just one of the amazing stories of healing that’s come out of prayer room is about an 8 year old named Jeremiah. |

There are loads of prayers up on the walls of the prayer room for him. Jeremiah had some tests that were showing that he had a 75% chance of having cancer. He had spots showing up on an X-ray of his leg. Now the spots have disappeared! He doesn’t have cancer!
Here’s what people have been saying about their time in the prayer room:
"An hour isn't enough! By the time I've absorbed the prayers on the walls and I'm ready to pray, it's nearly time to go!"
‘I walked into the prayer room this morning my normal "together" self and immediately burst into tears as I simply said "Father." I wept for 20 minutes as I communed with God, confessed my need for him and interceded for Metro. Thanks to all who "warmed up" the room with all your devotion to God.’
‘The moment I walked in the prayer room, it was as though the Lord had caused the Jericho-sized wall to immediately crumble from around my heart. Feeling stripped and quite naked, the floor under the cross seemed the only place where I might find the covering that my body needed.
I could not help myself from falling straight to my knees and wrapping my arms around that beautiful resemblance of all that my Jesus means to me. I wept and wept and let His blood be to me a blanket of warmth. And I did not realize what a death grip I had had on that wood until I went to stand and nearly had to pry my fingers loose. As I stood to my feet, I looked to my left and read that it is not I who lives, for I am dead, but Christ lives in me.
The words were alive, and infiltrated me with this crazy idea that I cannot even put in words, maybe I can describe it like being a kid who really believes that it is possible to fly, and is then willing to climb on top of chairs and couches and jump off in hopes that this time will be the one that whisks me away to the skies. I walked away from that encounter with Jesus willing to take wild chances at being what I am as His child – a light in darkness, salt in dullness, life to the dead, all those insane things that takes a person stripped of fear and clothed with the cloak of salvation – like a child who can fly.’
‘I went to the prayer room with a laundry list of things to pray for. I never made it to the list. God spoke to me in a way that he hasn't in some time now. I realized that I had grown distant from Jesus and that his work in me and through me was no longer a reality in my life. After many tears, and repentance, I left refreshed with new life in me. A feeling I've been desperate for for a long time.’
