France: 'this generation becoming heroes in prayer' - 18 Jun 2005

"Prophetically our recent 'triple 24-7' week here in Rouen has been great...through the act itself more than in what we received from God, " 24-7 France leader David Pierron writes from this historic cathedral city, near Paris.

"As with a lot of places in France, I think, Rouen is a city where there are big walls between denominations and churches. For the first time we prayed in 3 different places around Rouen.

It was with 3 completely different churches and a 'Fusion' student group: one church is a Reformed Church  (it's like the Anglican church, traditional), one is a new kind of church that has it's own café, and the last one an African church.

We really feel that this week was important: some walls fell. We were all very excited about it!

The teenagers were unbelievable. We mainly did this 24-7 week with students, and for the first time teenagers (around 15 of them) were involved. We just couldn't believe how much they prayed.
It was really difficult to find space on the prayer walls during the week: we haven't had this (good!) problem before.

We spent an afternoon covering the walls of one of the prayer rooms with white paper and within 4 hours, they had started praying together and had already covered it with Bible verses, words from God, etc...

During the nights it was impossible to have any quiet time alone as they were always there! (around 5 per night). They were just crazy about praying. When you see that, you start to become more humble, you feel really poor in spirit but also so happy about this generation who are already becoming heroes!"

Please pray for David and the 24-7 France team as they work to build the movement in a nation where 80% of the population have never seen nor held a Bible! For more inspiration for prayer see Operation World.
