NZ: Prayer Strikes Again! - 11 Nov 2005
Art, prayer and providence: welcome to 24-7 prayer in Taumarunui, New Zealand, where two churches joined in prayer together over a three week period beginning Monday, 17th October. The prayer room was housed in some offices above a shop in town. There, in an old place, God was doing some new things...

"God is doing amazing things in our community," said Gina Sinclair, who helped administer the prayer room. "The Youth are more on fire, starting up bible studies at the local high school (we have only one local high school). We have been praying into the area of drugs, and a couple of days ago, a local P lab was exposed by our police and was on the front page of the paper." | |
|
"The crime rates are going down, which is also documented in an article in the local newspaper! You can just feel it in the atmosphere of this town, something is changing, people, christians are waking up, God is beginning to move!"

Prayers and Answers
Those involved in the prayer kept a community journal, in which prayers and answered prayers were documented as time passed in the prayer room. Now that the prayer time is over, the journal remains a beautiful tetsimony of God's work among the New Zealanders. Below are selections from the journal. |

Prayers from the Taumarunui prayer room
|
'My daughter has not spoken to me for three years. She told me she hated me and didn’t care if she never saw me again. When the prayer house started I decided to put her name on the cross. She is now talking to me and has invited me to her 21st birthday.'
'I want to help make a difference. I want to draw the line. I want to start in my home. I want to move to my Youth Group. I want to move to my friends. I want to move to my school. I want to move to my town. I want to move to my district. I want to move to my country. God help me achieve every step with you in every way.'
|
'My inner being is changing. I no longer worry and stress about when and how things will get done - I have a new inner peace - everything is in your hands - family, finances, work, play - everything! You are so awesome Lord. Thank you for never giving up on me.'
'I put two of my good friends names on the cross, not expecting much. But with combined prayer there has been an amazing result. My friend was heavily into drinking and everything that goes with it, and then one week he came to me and said, "I'm being 'harassed' by something - I've seen four separate signs telling me to go to Church - do you mind if I come on Sunday?"
Now he and his girlfriend are regulars at church and his amazing personality is working for God!' |
'I put a prayer request up on the wall in the Prayer house. It was for my son, and - since then I have received abundant help for him.'
From the prayer journal
'I love it! I love it!'
(that's all that was written - hehe). |
