Slovakia Update: 'I must admit this has been the best week of my life' - 24 Jan 2006

A few weekes ago, we posted an article about a prayer ministry to Gypsies in Hlinne, Slovakia. Here are some reports from their prayer room. Please continue to pray for the Christians here as they seek to share God's love with other gypsy communities near them.
"24/7 were prayers, where we lifted and worshiped God. A week before, as we were preparing this, I started to be hungry to pray so much. And I must admit that this was my best week in life. God was touching me through the prayers. I started to pray in tongues. I was so happy to see people to write things worshipping God. I think everybody who entered that room was touched by God." Lukas
"My name is Erik and I want to share a testimony. 24/7 prayers were real renewal in Jesus for me. I was in sin and even that I tried to come back to God, it always lasted maximally a day. I was looking forward to prayer week as I wanted to change my life, I knew I am not on the good way. My expectations were fulfilled. God touched me and renewed me, I felt Him how much He wants me to come back to Him. He filled me with His Spirit. I desire now so much to pray and to be in His presence!" Erik		"I was responsible to cover uncovered hours in our prayer chain. Once I saw a woman trying to pray, but she could not. I came to her and told her to repent and to tell God about sins. She did and you should see the change, she started to pray freely and left so full of joy. Another time I came for my prayer hour and I was so tired I thought I can not stand it. The sister, who prayed before me, blessed me and the power lifted me up and I danced and sang and worshipped before the Lord." Peter
"When I entered the prayer room I knew that it was my place where I can meet my Lord. I experienced awesome hours with Him, love, peace, which I could bring back home, to my family." Zaneta	"Through the prayer times Holy Spirit showed me his expectations about my life. He was clearly leading me in what to do and what to pray for. I felt the presence of Holy Spirit so much, as I prayed." Miro, worship leader

"As we entered the prayer room,  all of our doubts about whether Christians in Hlinne are ready for 24/7 were gone. We knew it is right time and right bunch of guys. We were touched by the maturity of the writings on the walls, especially realising, that these were made by Gypsies, who are so often considered too simple“. The room had „heart and vision“ and God spoke there. It was precious to us to meet group of teenagers who prayed for us as we came to change guard. And then, after our prayer slot, we could pray for men and women in their middle ages. We did not want to leave, because it was so good to be in company of these God loving people. I believe, that God is to mightily use this group and Gypsie ministry of the priest Martin Mekele in the Slovakia." Zuzana		"Hi! I am Jozef and I am 14. I want to tell you about the 24/7 prayers. My life, even after knowing Jesus, was dry and empty. I expected a lot from the prayer time and I experienced it – great fulfillment. I met Holy Spirit and God gave me the gift of tongues and I am so thankful. He gave me strength to face the temptations." Jozef
"When I entered the room at 7... the silence and the presence of God there, you could feel it, it was cool. I started to pray and immediately I cried. It was hour when I met Gods mercy so much. It was very short hour, I was looking forward to the next ones, meeting God was giving me strength and courage to live fully, even in difficulties. 24/7 was for me special week with Him. God gives me peace, patience, joy." Renata

"When I was praying in the prayer room, interceding for various things, I brought my seven years old son with me. For a long time I desired that he would be praying. And all of a sudden, to my surprise, he started there, he prayed. In that room we regularly experienced powerful Gods presence." Peter

"When I prayed in the prayer house, I felt God close to me powerfully. Even on the way there I felt like something was drawing me there. It is not easy to describe, you need to experience it. I desire that 24/7 prayers would be on many places, that many people can experience it. Because God is doing miracles." Marek
