Austria: Our Vision is Jesus! - 25 Apr 2006

Austrian_prayer_room1"The 24-7 Prayer Room was an awesome and richly blessed time for us." writes Martina Spitzbart, Austria. "Initially not many people signed up and we were wondering if we could fill all the hours. But as soon people where there praying they caught the vision and couldn't stop praying.

We invited all the different christian groups and communities in our area, it was wonderful to have unity in our prayers, knowing we have ONE God, whom we seek together. Jesus prayed for the church to be united (John 17: 21-23). And he gave a wonderful promise with it: that the world may know that the Father has sent him. When we were preparing for our first 24-7 we realised it is not a thing to do just in our group. The vision is bigger, is greater, because the vision is Jesus, and to see His glory in this world.

Austrian_prayer_room2Being an ecumenical community this is in our genes. This vision of unity in the body of Christ. This is the key for this land. The key that we, as the church and representatives of Christ may reflect His perfect love in a more complete way.

So we sent out an invitation for all Christian communities in the area and it was such a joy to see people signing up for the 24-7 from all different kind of groups! Catholics, Evangelicals, Free- churches. When we were praying the name of the group we belong to was not in the centre of our attention; the centre belonged to someone else, Jesus.

Austrian_prayer_room3God used the 24-7 to build more unity, to seek his face together and to seek Him for our land. This was just one heavenly effect of this prayer week."
