Zimbabwe's Supersize Prayer Room - 8 Jun 2006
"The (slightly enormous) prayer room is finally up and running out of our hands." Writes Mandy from Zimbabwe. "When I pitched 24-7 to my leader he loved it so much he gave me our 1000 seater venue! We have 17 stations - some just inspiring images, others interactive meditations. It's been so cool to let people loose on the creative side.
I was there last night, it was like being in an epic adventure – dungeons and dragons style. I don’t know what the atmosphere is like during the day – but night time ROCKS!! There's nothing happening outside, blissful silence and the dim lighting sets each station apart, really gives you the sense of entering into the Holy of Holies.

I struggle with prayer; the right words don’t jump up when I need them and I forget vital points, but last night was a flow of words… I didn’t even pray in the spirit coz I was having so much fun as the words just kept coming.
This has already given me ideas for boosting morale and effective communication within cell and reaching out to non-christians. I think a video of this should be made for distribution to other churches because such a tool is potent for igniting and rejuvenating the church to be on fire.
“Wow” is a good word to use but I feel that the praying game has been upped a notch… the word I would prefer to use now is “phenomenal”
