Dying for Love - 25 Jul 2006
Dying For Love
When we’re falling, stalling, desperately calling;
Inwardly condemning, not self-defending;
And self-perfection turns to self-deception;
As we’re dying for love, but feeling rejection.
Glory, hope and honour rest
Upon the One who is no less,
Than death defying, hell surviving,
Life providing- Jesus Christ.
Holy Heart Surgery
My heart was hard, or so it seemed.
A million trips to the cross, without feeling redeemed.
I knew in my head, why Jesus was killed,
And my Bible is full of prophecies fulfilled
But still I ached, I needed more
To really experience a break from the Law
I heard his blood could cover my sin
To cleanse me, heal me, deep within.
So in prayer I wrestled on:
“My God, come quickly to my side.
I know your truth within my mind,
But access to my heart has been denied.
“Somehow bring about my healing
I’m numb inside. I have no feeling.
Please, no equation for my brain,
Just You Lord God, to take my pain.”
And then I glimpsed, in my minds eye,
The risen Jesus- glorified.
Him and I in precious time.
Held secure in shadow of Cross,
No longer feeling cold and lost.
His blood now flowing through my heart,
Knowing that real life could start.
