Czech Republic Going Further - 31 Jul 2006
A second week of 24-7 prayer has come to an end in the Czech Republic but the power that has brought people to their knees has left lives changed and churches encouraged.
Hoping (and praying!!) that the technicalities of rotas and manning the prayer room would work (it did!!), our Czech friends embarked on their latest 24-7 session.
Prayer started in Hernnhut, the birthplace of Moravian prayer and mission. This location was so instrumental in the original 100 years of prayer and then with the beginnings of 24-7. It is amazing to hear that again God seemed to release a special blessing in and from this place.
‘We have anointed the whole [prayer] room with the oil we brought from there. It was really powerful’
Stories coming out of the Czech Republic tell of how the prayer room has developed a greater level and depth of prayer. Amongst the familiar looking prayer boards, murals, candles and coffee, a new thing has begun. People have gone deeper and churches have been lifted higher.
‘I can testify that some people really started with the intensity of their prayers (even a pastor of one church) and at least 3 churches in our city were encouraged and of course on the notice-board, there were many answered prayers. I think that the LORD started something new through it and also encouraged several churches in other cities in [the] Czech Republic that they may start [renewed prayer].’
And so it spreads, as the holy spirit lights people up, the flame catches…
