"You are the God who performs miracles;
you display your power among the peoples." (Psalm 77:13-14)
Many miracles have been reported in New Zealand, as the Salvation Army in that nation has given itself to an entire year of 24-7 Prayer... And with
stories of healings, miraculous provision, restored marriages and people coming to know Jesus, flowing in from the length and breadth of the land, the Salvo's have decided to keep their year of prayer going! Now, in their second year of non-stop, night-and-day intercession, on the eve of a visit to the nation by 24-7's Pete Greig and Phil Togwell, Major Judith Bennett sends us this selection of just ten of the many cool stories of answered prayer in New Zealand.. |

1. The first person to pray in the Prayer Room was not even a Christian but now he has signed up for two early morning periods.
2. A 4 week baby was diagnosed with cistic fibrosis so we prayed and prayed and when the baby was taken back to the hospital, she did not have this diagnosis anymore.
3. Through our 24-7 prayer week, an alcoholic lady of long-standing allowed God to restore her to sobriety and sanity, and the difference is astounding.
4. One of our Early Childhood teachers came to work with a migraine so we surrounded her, laid hands on her and prayed for instant healing. The pain moved from the top of her head to the back and then completely lifted off leaving her with no migraine.
5. A couple in serious marriage difficulties, cast aside their differences in the prayer room and their relationship is restored!
6. We have experienced God and prayer in a way we never knew before. Each time we left the prayer room, we continued praying. Having turned on the tap, we didn't want to turn it off.
7. There is a new unity in our corps: People being refreshed and restored, New Christians fervent in prayer and our children so excited and passionate that they just have "to get another slot" in the prayer room! Such encouragement to us all!
8. Husband and wives who had never prayed together, spent time praying in the Prayer Room. One testimony on Sunday from a husband said: “It was the first time in their married life where they had done this.”
9. A teacher asked God to make our church holy ground 'from the start of the driveway to the very end of the building'. A young lady come to pray later that night and described feeling overwhelmed with the presence of God as the wheels of her car touched the driveway into the church.
10. Many older people decided to do their praying at home but as news spread of the great time people were having time in the prayer room these people came and experienced what others were talking about for themselves. So the whole Corp was able to be part of this incredible experience, young and old alike, at all times of the day and night to be part of Gods moving. |
