Transit is on the Move by Andy FreemanAndy Freeman - 13 Nov 2007

24-7’s Boiler Room training school Transit is now in its third year in the UK. As the class of 2007 launched we felt God speaking to us quite specifically that it was time to get mobile.  So it's with a fair amount of excitement that we're preparing to get on buses, trains and planes next week to serve others in the 24-7 family, pray like mad and see what God does.  We'd love it if you could pray for these teams as they go.

A group of students will be in London with our friends Tom and Joanna Gillum, leaders of the Community of St Jude in Earls Court.  They'll be engaging in a daily rhythm of prayer, sharing life with people and engaging practically with issues of poverty and need in the area.

A second team is journeying with Steph Heald from the Guildford Boiler Room to Auchterader near Perth in Scotland.  The team will be helping local churches to pray 24-7 for a week, connecting with the needs of the area and sharing a little about 24-7 with others along the way.

Thirdly, two of our students will be heading to Dublin to connect with 24-7 friends there.   They’ll be praying for the city and for the island of Ireland where a new 24-7 Prayer national team has just launched.

Please pray for all three teams as they pray, encourage and see what God wants to do in these three locations.

Want to get involved?

Transit offers plenty of chances to get involved.  The course is running in the UK and USA and more information is available on the Training pages of this site.  There is a chance that a couple of places might be open to late starters for the UK course.  If you're interested in getting more involved with the movement, or in spending a long period of time in an active Boiler Room then get in touch asap.

If ten months is two large a commitment then there are also a number of day and week long training opportunities available.  These are based with the UK course but are open to any nationality with a good grasp of the English language.  Check out the article about Transit Compact on the UK website for more details.

Lastly the Communities team is working on a new training scheme that aims to make training resources available to everyone via the web.  It's early days yet, but if anyone would be interested in gathering together a group of 5 or more people to study together, listen to a download and get involved in some new forms of 24-7 Training then do get in touch and you can help shape a pioneering new scheme by telling us what would be helpful for your context.
