Germany - leaders, laptops,and flying windmills - 15 Jan 2004

It's now a key time for 24-7 Germany with its leaders meeting this month for their retreat where they'll discuss the movement's direction for 2004. Markus Lagal, who's at the national office in Dresden, eastern Germany , has a few prayer points....

"Some things are really stupid (not only me)- we bought new software for my laptop, because the old software was really bad to work with. The laptop always shot down and stuff, was very slow etc. It's my private laptop, but I use it mostly for 24-7 work. Now after weeks without a laptop, we finished it all and it worked perfectly - but only one
day aTV-set fell on it. Sounds funny, but isn't really. So the laptop is destroyed now. :o(

Also a major Christian bookstore came to us. They got in contact at a book exhibition with the Kingsway guys. By some reason the bookstore guy had two meetings with the Kingsway guys. He was wondering about this, but then he thought, this must be important and so he discovered the 24-7 books. And now they would like to produce the Red Moon Rising  and the 24-7 Manual in German. They would  like to do it very close together with us. so that we have a perfect result, which serves the movement and the youth in Germany. So maybe we put these books together into one, whatever.

The point is: we need wisdom how to make the book and how to cooperate with the bookstore guys. We don't like to sell out 24-7, just because it's sexy.

3rd point: I left my lovely band Flying Windmills. I just can't do both things together (24-7 AND band). The band is getting bigger (we had 50 shows this year and will have nearly 100 next year) and 24-7 needs a lot of time right now, because of team building....So I decided to leave the band (there is a chance to join back again sometime- maybe. Now I have my few last shows.... we're playing in THE prison in east Germany . It's the biggest prison here with all the heavy guys ...Saturday: we play a show in a big party with a relatively well known German popstar called MIA. She is a cool mix  of pop, electro and jazz.

My final show is with a German major mod band. We'replaying in a club called THE CHURCH. It's not a Christian club, but its filled with Jesus pictures and stuff like this. it's 100% rock'n'roll and maybe100% Jesus inside some day too!"
