24-7 Ibiza Has A New Home!, a report by Brian HeasleyBrian Heasley - 31 Jan 2008

24-7 Ibiza has a new home!  In March 2008, we will move into a larger multi-purpose building: a tool that will define what we do on the island.  We have moved from a first floor 40 m2 facility to a street level 90 m2 premises with a toilet – a luxury we didn’t previously have! We are very happy.
Our building will provide a place of refuge and spiritual reflection. It will also allow us to run a multiplicity of courses, be actively used all year round and be a great facility for the people of Ibiza. We will host xbox tournaments, relaxation sessions, Spanish classes, coffee mornings, poker nights…..

It will be a place for the young to use after school or at the weekend. It will be attractive to all age groups.

It will be a facility for information and advice, an access point for summer workers.  Not solely a place to use the internet, but a place of support when people are in need, a place of practical advice and a listening ear…..

Sexual health and drugs awareness will be issues we will tackle from this building.

We could run DJ training courses, music lessons…..

We will regularly gather people there for creative, chilled out times of teaching and worship. We will run spiritual discovery courses (such as Alpha).  It will be the venue from which summer teams work, the base for our community’s West End summer work.

At its heart, our new facility will have a prayer room - its vibrant, beating, spiritual heart will be prayer.  Prayer will sustain it.

Now there are challenges;  we need to raise £8000 to equip our new building, with air con units, a security grille, computers, television and furniture.  Our rent has also increased significantly. We really do need to attract more regular and  sustained support for the running costs of the building.

As 24-7 Ibiza, we are seeking to build a vibrant, year round, praying and worshipping community on the island of Ibiza.  A community that is passionate about being kind and doing good for others. A community that does not live for itself alone. A community who love Ibiza, its residents and visitors. A community of Jesus followers who want to bring his light and flavours to the island.

This has always been our goal; now it feels like we are about to take the next step.
