Kit Kats, Prayer and Politicians in Northern Ireland - 19 Feb 2008
Politicians and Kit Kats, it’s amazing where praying 24-7 can take you…
“We ran a weekend of prayer in October and received such a positive response that our rector allowed us to go all out to do 24-7.” Writes Lou from Northern Ireland. “I feel a bit of a fraud because we're perhaps not as youthful as many Prayer Rooms - our youth work is small but we have a big ministry amongst 30 - 40 age group and the prayer room has drawn people from all ages. I'm delighted to say that as from this morning every single hour has been filled - what an encouragement!"
"On Saturday, as part of our week of prayer we went out onto the streets of Dromore and handed out tea/coffee and Kit Kats and offered to pray for people. This has been something we have been working towards for some time and it seemed like a great opportunity to launch it during 24-7. Little did we know (but God did) that because of our local bi election our political parties were all out canvassing and we had the privilege of praying for our DUP, UUP, Alliance, SDLP representatives within our local community."
"To top it off First Minister Dr Ian Paisley was also in Dromore canvassing for his DUP representative and we were able to pray for him and his entire entourage on the street - a surreal moment in my life!"
"The room has been so popular that I have had to give up my own times in it to allow others in… The Youth for Christ Drop in centre are also launching a Prayer Room… so Dromore is well covered in prayer this month.”"
