yerFrance: shaking the foundations with pra - 19 Jan 2005

David Pierron, who leads 24-7 in France, would love your prayers as he seeks to spread the word about non-stop prayer and establishes a team around him. Also give thanks to God for David's new office space (also his personal accommodation!).
Here's his latest news:

"In September  I stopped working for the Reformed Church.... After taking a rest for a while amongst family, I returned to Rouen (city in northern France most famous as the place Joan of Arc was martyred! -Ed.) in order to find work and to continue working on the plans to open a 24-7 office for France and the French speaking world.

It was very difficult. I made many plans and all of them came to nothing  - all the doors closed on me when trying to find an office or an apartment where I could live and establish myself....

I roamed around a bit,  having no fixed living space (2 months at one place, 40 days at another, 2 weeks at another and a few days at another!)....

Butall this has just sorted itself out in an amazing way! You should know that in Rouen all the weeks of 24-7 prayer have been held in pretty little cellars shaped with an arch. If only we'd known from the first week that God was calling us to pray for the foundations of the town to be shaken and that God was going to call us to pray symbolically in cellars!

We started praying in a cellar during a prayer week in 2003 and before I started working for the church the pastor told me a cellar existed in the parish house which would be ideal for a prayer room! After a few months of work on it, we used the place for several weeks of 24-7 prayer and also for a month of prayer before a recent missions week.

In December 2004, I decided to look seriously for an apartment...  I saw the first apartment: 30m², costing 290 Euros, all expenses included, situated in the centre of Rouen, and was completely blown away. This apartment is on the ground floor and has an amazing arched cellar, solely for my use, and much nicer than the other two. From then on I pretty much decided to take this apartment, although it wasn't easy because it was on file and my circumstances weren't great, but luckily my parents agreed to act as guarantors. And finally I had it! The Lord is truly amazing!

For a job, I started by giving maths lessons with Acadomia and I have gained more and more pupils. Up until now it hasn't been that profitable but it's becoming better financially."
