The story of 24-7 Prayer: Red Moon RisingPete Greig - 21 Mar 2012
Twelve years after the first prayer room opened in Chichester, England and the 24-7 Prayer Movement has now spread into over a hundred countries. With thousands of Prayer Rooms springing up everywhere from cathedrals to bars, Communist China to anarchic German punk festivals and a US Naval Academy, it is an epidemic that crosses cultural and denominational barriers and prayed continually for over a decade. This movement has ignited hundreds of thousands to prayer and even sparked the formation of over 30 modern day monastic communities with a lifestyles hinged around a commitment to prayer and fellowship.
Red Moon Rising tells the remarkable story of 24-7 Prayer. Its pages tell of pain and perseverance, of answered prayers and hopes realised. But most of all, this book is demonstrates that anything is possible when ordinary people say yes to the whispers of God.
This week on the website we are releasing a free extract from Red Moon Rising to help give you some insight into the incredible journey of 24-7 Prayer. Floyd McClung, author of the Father Heart of God, wrote the Foreword and had this to say:
Red Moon Rising is not just a book; it’s an invitation. I have accepted the invitation. I jumped at the offer the first moment I met Pete. I think you will too, once you listen to the Spirit as he speaks through these pages.
If you have felt inspired by this introduction and would like to read more you can find chapter one on the Red Moon Rising page of the site or order a hard copy from the 24-7 Shop.
