We are releasing free audio downloads of all the seminar sessions from the International Gathering in Dublin. The Gathering hosted 7 different seminar streams: Creativity, Leadership, Church, Justice, Prayer and Mission - each stream had 4 seminars in total. We will be releasing a new stream every couple of days, today's release is 'Leadership':
Leadership stream overview:
It has been said that any community or organisation is 'as strong or weak as its leadership'. Dynamic and growing movements will be catalysed, shaped and guided by skilled leaders who have been equipped to lay good foundations. In these sessions experienced leaders explore four key characteristics of strong leadership and good foundations.
Session 1 – Billy Kennedy: Visionary Leadership: How to shape the future as a leader
Exploring the place of vision in the life of the leader, the life of the Leadership Team and the community. How can casting vision enliven, motivate, draw commitment and release energy towards the attainment of goals and the fulfillment of dreams.
Session 2 – Adam Cox: Emergent Leadership: The changing shape of leadership in the New Testament Church
The New Testament Church goes through an amazing period of growth and change from Pentecost, through the lifetimes of the 'first apostles' and beyond into early church history. The New Testament shows a church that's experiencing change at every level - numerical growth, planned development and, then, unplanned change, forced by events beyond their control. They continued to morph and adapt through this season. What can we learn from this as our communities grow in size, change and experience unforeseen events?
Session 3 – Jens Mankel and Jani Rubery: Catalytic Leadership: Leading towards qualitative and quantitative growth
Effective leaders catalyse growth in the lives of their communities. In the Church context, growth is both qualitative and quantitative in breadth and depth - it's multi dimensional. How do we grow in several dimensions at the same time and what kind of leadership will create the right environment for this?
Session 4 – Roger and Maggie Ellis: Strategic Leadership: How to plan and build towards your dream
All great works and all great movements seriously engage with plans and strategy right from their inception. This may take different forms; however, those who keep growing and keep moving forward have learned to be strategic. They are able to to plan and build towards their dreams, seeing them rise little by little. What's at the heart of good strategic planning and how can we become more effective in this?
