Free Download: Dublin Seminar Sessions - ChurchMatthew Horswell - 17 Nov 2013
We are releasing free audio downloads of all the seminar sessions from the International Gathering in Dublin. The Gathering hosted 7 different seminar streams: Creativity, Leadership, Church, Justice, Prayer and Mission - each stream had 4 seminars in total. We will be releasing a new stream every couple of days, today's release is 'Church':
Church stream overview:
This stream will be a facilitated forum, encouraging conversation and interaction. We will look at various models of church connected to 24-7 – the European root drawing from our monastic heritage, the larger established churches connecting to the movement and the journey of the Kansas City Boiler Room. In particular we will focus on the pioneering mission impulse, training and the call to express church as family.
Session 1 - Andy Freeman: A celebration of European roots – the monastic and missional impulses leading to the emergence of global community initiatives within 24-7
How do we establish and sustain a pioneering missional impulse in the heart of our church communities? Andy was one of the primary carriers of 24-7’s early years and will reflect on how 24-7 prayer rhythms were expressed in mission – leading to the formation of prayerful communities known as Boiler Rooms.
Session 2 - Joe Steinke and guests: Becoming a Resource Church for 24-7 – how established churches can be a vital player in the 24-7 movement
Roger Nix and Alain Emerson will discuss how their local churches are becoming a resource for prayer, training and mission within 24-7. Joe Steinke and Roger Ellis will then explore training and talk about the 24-7 Academy, the Vision Course and the emergence of the Antioch School in the US and Leadership Training in Europe.
Session 3 - Adam Cox: The Kansas City Story – the journey from friends praying and dreaming together to becoming the growing family that is Kansas City Boiler Room
How do we establish and sustain a quality of kingdom family relationships in our communities? Adam will share the journey of how he and his friends journeyed from youthful passion into parental responsibility as they grew up into their roles as family leaders in the establishment of the KC Boiler Room. Adam will honestly tell his story of learning foundational lessons about the family nature of Church and how we can establish a kingdom culture that imprints the Father’s love in Christ Jesus as our Holy Spirit given inheritance.
Session 4 – Joe Steinke and Adam Cox: The ordered household – how seeing the church as family shapes leadership and relationships
Adam and Joe will host a conversation about how we are to establish and structure our expressions of church in the light of God’s kingdom family. Drawing from the book of Acts and the Pauline epistles we will consider and discuss how to bring a healthy and sustainable order to the Father’s family, expressed in church.
On Tuesday we will be releasing the 'Justice' stream
